This should be a great companion to Deep Blues (a great doc especially if you like roots music and individualists. If you like Blues it is a must-see)

For those who don't know, Hill Country Blues is the blues along the TN/MS border. Fred McDowell is the classic hill country guy. Junior Kimbrough & RL Burnside are two of the more recent and more famous.

This is hypnotic danceable blues, it's deeep groove music. It's good for you body and good for your soul.

John Lee Hooker is a variation of it. North Mississippi Allstars (literally) wouldn't exist if it weren't for Hill Country Blues.
