Amel Larrieux's Bravebird
Not only is this woman absolutely stunning to look at she has a voice that is out of this world. Soul, style and substance. The album is funky and chill at the same time. The lyrics are intelligent and powerful and her voice is sexy, smoky and strong!
She comes by way of Groove Theory, one of the first and best selling RnB styled Acid-Jazz/Electronic ensembles. That along with her first solo record, Infinite Possibilities, are longtime favorites of mine.
Bravebird is still pretty mellow but the songs are good and the vibe is "oh, so sexy". This woman is just cool.
