• Youssou N'Dour:Egypt (possibly his most beautiful; a mix of his beautiful voice and Egyptian instrumentation)
• Por Vida: A Tribute to the Songs of Alejandro Escovedo (this is one of the best tributes I have ever heard, the performers - Bob Neuwirth, Nicholas Tremulis, Ian Hunter and more - put their heart in song into the music of a man who is all heart and soul).

• Antibalas:Who Is This America? (Afrobeat moved forward with all it's groove, power and politics.)

There are more records, most notably the new Charlie Hunter and Amel Larrieux, but that's all I have time to write now.
