Vassar was an amazing musician and an enormus influence on stringed instrument players and those of us who love music. Vassar was the first fiddle player I ever heard who played with soul. His music was an indication that he was pure. I saw him play several times and was always awestruck. Stylistically he added jazz to his bluegrass creating a style all his own.
